VMF USA and Armenian-American Pharmacists’ Association Sign a Memorandum of Understanding
Sargis Meliksetyan, founder of the Vahe Meliksetyan Foundation, embarked on a business trip to Boston and New York, USA, at the invitation of the Armenian-American Pharmacists’ Association in early May 2024. During this visit, he held important meetings with various representatives and organizations within the Armenian community working in the US healthcare sector.
On May 10th, a concluding event was held where the foundation’s work and future plans were presented. Esteemed speakers at the event included Professor Vicken L. Babikyan, a renowned neurologist from Boston University, and Tanya Najarian-Iliadis, an experienced clinical pharmacist and director of Atrius Health’s primary care clinical pharmacy service.
The highlight of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Vahe Meliksetyan Foundation and the Armenian-American Pharmacists’ Association, fostering future collaboration.
Reflecting on his US visit, Sargis Meliksetyan expressed his admiration for the professionalism of Armenian compatriots working in the US healthcare system and their willingness to support Armenia. “I want to express my deep gratitude to the Armenian-American Pharmacists’ Association and personally to Sossy Yogurtian for inviting me and for their continued support,” he said. “I am confident that the US model of clinical pharmacy serves as an excellent example for us, and we have significant potential for cooperation in this field.”
