The “Symphonic Hay Film” charity concert has raised a total of 12’500’000 AMD

The “Symphonic Hay Film” special charity concert presented by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, the “Vahe Meliksetyan” Educational-Medical Foundation, and C-squared company was held on November 4 at the “Aram Khachatryan” concert hall, honoring the 36th birthday of clinical pharmacist Vahe Meliksetyan, who tragically lost his life during the 44-day Artsakh War.

The evening was filled with the most beloved Armenian movie melodies, performed by The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.

A total of 12.5 million AMD has been raised during the concert through ticket sales and donations, 10% of which will be donated to the production of Jivan Avetisyan’s “Angels of 2020” movie (a movie based on the real memories and personal stories of more than forty doctors), and the remaining part will support the foundation’s mission of advancing clinical pharmacy in Armenia.

Summarizing the concert, the Executive Director of the Foundation Sargis Meliksetyan mentioned.
“On behalf of the Foundation and myself, I would like to express my gratitude to all partners of the event – The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and C-squared company, the Martin Star company, as the primary sponsor of the concert, the Cinema Foundation of Armenia, the Tomsarkgh.am, the chief information partner Tert.am, and everyone who has contributed to the organization of the event. A special thank you to the entire team of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra for their willingness and continuous support.”

The Director of the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, Sargis Balbabyan, also noted that the orchestra is committed to involving vulnerable social groups in cultural events, and participates in charity concerts and events held for fundraising purposes. It also supports the acquisition of special devices for children with hearing problems.

The cooperation with the “Vahe Meliksetyan” Foundation seems to be turning into a tradition. For the second year, we jointly present symphonic performances of popular Armenian movie melodies. The “Symphonic Hay Film” series is also very popular with our audience, and we hope that the concert’s program also contributed to the successful realization of the charity concert and the foundation’s goals,” added Sargis Balbabyan.

The State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia was created by a group of devotees of classical music united around the goals of preservation of Armenian musical traditions and striving for spiritual upliftment through the power of music. Known for its clear and elegant sound, as well as impressive performance style, the orchestra is a welcome guest in the leading concert halls of Armenia and the world.

The rich repertoire of more than 50 annual concerts held in Armenia and abroad includes concerts of various genres and performance formats, from symphonic, ballet, and opera music to symphonic adaptations of popular cinematographic music and jazz interpretations of classical works. The orchestra along with its founder, artistic director, and chief conductor Sergey Smbatyan has created four annual festivals, which welcome many virtuoso soloists and conductors from all around the world in Armenia.

The orchestra also collaborates with a number of famous modern composers. Through educational programs for pupils and students, the orchestra also tries to awaken interest and attraction for classical music among young people, making them join the classical concert audiences.

“Vahe Meliksetyan” Educational-Medical Foundation was established in 2021 with the aim of developing clinical pharmacy in Armenia. The foundation’s mission is to realize the clinical pharmacist, scientist, lecturer of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy of YSMU, and medical service lieutenant Vahe Meliksetyan’s professional dream. In the previous four years, the “Vahe Meliksetyan” Foundation provided more than 28 million AMD – scholarships, tuition fee coverage, educational grants, and training, and conducted large-scale research to identify the prospects for the development of clinical pharmacy in the Republic of Armenia.
